Lost & Found Pets in Tehachapi CA

If you've lost or found a pet in the Greater Tehachapi area, please e-mail us a detailed description of the animal, where it was lost/found, and your name and contact information, including phone number.  The info you provide will be posted on the Canine Creek website with the most recent listings at the top of the page.

We recommend you contact the Tehachapi Humane Society and the Tehachapi News classified ad department to file a lost/found pet report (at no cost).  Other organizations you can contact for help include several animal shelters in Bakersfield, and Kern County Animal Control in Mojave.  You might also want to call the various pet related businesses around town (vets, groomers, pet shops), as many have bulletin boards where you can post lost/found pet information.

5/1/08 - Lost Cat - Stallion Springs, orange stripped tabby named Mishu, a neutered male about 3 years old, has been missing since 4/27/08 when he wandered away from his home on Jacks Hill Road in Stallion Springs.  His family and the other cat friends miss him very much.  If found, please call Melissa at (661) 619-8350.

4/30/08 - Charcoal Gray Cat, altered male, lost in the Alta Vista Estates. Comet is approximately 8 years old. He does not have an ID tag or a microchip. If found, call Deborah at 661-839-2842.

4/25/08 - German Shepard Mix, male, 3 years old, has been missing since 4/23/08 around 3pm when he ran out of his owner's open door.  Sampson has markings like a Rottweiler, but a long tail, has very small ears for his size, and is wearing a blue/black collar.  If he is found please call Michael at 661-972-6227.  Sampson lives at 420 Appaloosa Court in Tehachapi.  The nearest cross street is Burnett Rd and Dennison Rd.

4/25/08 - Mini Red Dachshund named Canela lost near Jacobsen Middle School on Anita in Tehachapi.  If found, please call Maria Ybarra at 822-0589 or 972-2039.

4/25/08 - Black scruffly little dog (Lake Hughes), originally from Tehachapi, lost in the Lake Hughes area.  Described as a female Chi-Poo.  If found, please contact the Tehachapi Humane Society at 823-0699 and press #5 for the dog line.

4/24/08 - Black German Shepherd/Lab mix with upright ears lost on Violette Court in the Golden Hills area in Tehachapi.  The 4 yr old female is spayed, weighs 45 pounds and is named Chelsea.  She is wearing a collar (blue or purple) but it does not have tags.  If found, please call Diane at 822-6727.

4/23/08 - Male Maltese, 2 years old, lost at Meadow Brook Park.  No collar, no tags, no microchip.  The dog's name is Bandito. If found, please call Virginia at 822-8880.

4/17/08 - Lilac Point Balinese Cat, spayed female, medium hair, last seen April 13th in Bear Valley Springs near the golf course.  She is about 1 1/2 years old and her name is Baelie. she has a pink bell collar and has tags on with an out of state number but the owners live locally.  Her tail is crooked in 2 places.  All her shots up to date.  Baelie is very loving and shy to people she doesn't know.  If you've seen her or know where she is, call Elizabeth at 821-0627 or (972) 983-7642.

4/16/08 - Blue Pit Bull, neutered male, lost behind Witt's Plaza.  Friendly and likes other dogs. No collar, but the dog is microchipped.  (The chip is registered to someone else who will say the dog is not theirs.)  The dog jumped a fence at the pet sitter's house. Please call Audrey, she is the person who was watching the dog, at 972-7720.

4/15/08 - White cat with orange spots, right ear tipped, recently spayed, showing signs of upper respiratory infection (runny eyes and nose).  Needs medication. She is a little skittish and meows when talked to. She escaped Sunday late afternoon from West D St and Mountain View area. If found, please call 823-1964.

4/8/08 - Female black Labrador lost in Alpine Forest yesterday, young, wearing a pink Lupine collar with an ID tag.  The dog's name is Jazmine.  If found, please call Allie at 661-747-3116.

4/8/08 - 2 Fawn Colored Pugs, one intact male and a pregnant female about to whelp, lost around 10 am today.  No collars, no ID tags, no microchips.  Lost in area of Dennison and Brett North of the tracks. Please call Karen Wagner 750-3159.

4/7/08 - Male Pit Bull lost on 4/4/08 near West Park.  Brindle color with white patch on chest and head, very friendly, not neutered, no collar/tags and not microchipped.  The dog had been given to the owner only a few days before, so he will not likely know where "home" is.  If found, please call Diane at 661-822-7744.

3/30/08 -  A Great Dane named Duke was thrown from a vehicle during a car accident on Highway 395 at the 54 mile marker on March 30th.  He crossed the freeway and disappeared.  Duke is wearing a collar with tags and is microchipped.  He is black with a white patch on his chest and will be a year old on April 9th.  If anyone has seen Duke, please call his owner, Myra Hardy of Phoenix, at 602-380-3382.

3/27/08 - Brown/Black Labrador (lost in Buttonwillow CA).  Chance is from Oregon, but was lost while traveling with his family through Buttonwillow, California when he was scared by a noise and went running, pulling his retractable leash.  Chance is one year old, neutered, black/brown distinct coloring on shoulder blades/ears. 3/19/08 - 2 Dogs Lost on Jacaranda (BVS) - One small female Beagle approximately 15lbs., 2 1/2 years old, green leash still on collar, her name is Snoopy.  Second is a black male Labrador, approximately 65 lbs., 1 /2 years old, no tag just a choker chain.  His name is Shiloh

3/18/08 - Black Miniature Schnauzer, female puppy named Lady, lost in Bear Valley Springs.  If found, please call 821-0093.  Her family misses her very much!

3/13/08 - Red Female Pomeranian named Baby lost in Golden Hills behind Frosty King.  Wearing a collar and tags.  Has been missing since 3/10/08.  If found, please call Diane at 972-4087.

2/8/08 - Boxer, intact male, brindle markings, lost in Golden Hills on 2/6/08. Wearing a faded blue collar. If found, call Ray at 823-7236.

2/8/08 - Mixed Breed Dog lost near Kmart on 2/7/08 around 1:30pm.  Cream colored / light brown Corgi sized dog.  If found, call 972-4012.

2/4/08 - Cream colored American Bob Tail Cat, female in heat, lost in Golden Hills at Mesa and Westwood.  Has bright blue eyes.  She has been missing for 4 days.  If found, please call Samantha at 661-953-5856 or 427-7320.

1/20/08 - Black & White Cat, male, 9 months old, black with white chin, chest, paws, and white whiskers.  He has yellow eyes.  Last seen in town near Beech St. and Cherry Ln. on Sunday Jan. 20th.  If found, please contact Amy Frerichs at 822-8219.

1/18/08 - Miniature Pinscher, red/brown color, female, lost on Candice Avenue near 20th Street West in Rosemond.  Wearing a purple collar and has an Avid microchip.  Has a docked tail and 2 scrapes over her nose.  If found, please call Cheryl at 760-963-0467 or 661-256-1397 or Jeff at 661-992-3622.

1/15/09 - Cocker Spaniel / Border Collie Mix lost in Stallion Springs.  Red coat with white accent, brown eyes. Wearing tartan plaid collar with yellow tags.  Approximately 10 years old, but in good health. Microchipped. If found, contact Christina at 822-4702 or 559-277-1976.

1/13/08 - Dachshund named Teddy was lost in Stallion Springs.  Teddy is brown, and has an info tag on his collar.  If you find him, please call Lorie at 823-0628.

1/8/08 - Cocker Spaniel, off white, approximately 6 months old.  Lost in Stallion Springs when she climbed her home fence. Red collar with a flower charm. 822-8367 or 478-5561. Charles or Miriam

12/27/07 - Female spayed light yellow Labrador with pink nose named Lexi.  Hopped the gate at Canine Canyon Ranch in Old West Ranch (east end of town) and headed toward town (?) on 12/27/07. Wearing blue reflective collar with white stars and a red heart foster dog tag.  Shy dog, may not approach people and is scared of other dogs. 12/26/07 - Male Chihuahua/Dachshund mix lost the day after Christmas when he escaped from his car at the Bank of the West.  Black/tan has collar and tags on.  Contact Eileen if found.  822-9481

12/25/07 - Female German Short Hair lost on Christmas Day. Is a very short dog.  No collar, tags or microchip. Last seen near Highline and Dennison.  If found, please call Victor 661-213-8346.

12/24/07 - Black & white female Persian cat with long hair.  Has a microchip.  Missing collar (found on fence).  Last seen in area of Mini court and Brooke Drive in Golden Hills.  Answers to Mama Cat.  Very grouchy.  Please call 661-599-0361.

11/25/07 - Young Male (neutered) Jack Russell mix in Stallion Springs. Tan and white, and has 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye. No collar and no microchip.  If found, please call Melanie at 428-5953.

10/26/07 - Rott/Lab mix with a long tail, 9 years old, named Buck, and an old Golden named Bo.  Both dogs disappeared from their back yard in the KB homes on 10/26.  They were wearing collars and tags when they disappeared.  No microchips.  If you know where these dogs are, please call (661) 618-5365 or (661) 433-6451.

10/22/07 - Tan and white Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix, male, lost on or about 10/22 in the vicinity of Old Town Rd and Woodford Tehachapi.  Has had a back injury so he walks funny.  If found, please contact Angela Chambers 661-330-6501

8/15/07 - Large, male German Shepherd named Zach.  Weighs between 50 - 100 lbs, and is black and gold/tan in color.  Zach is not neutered, and does not have a microchip.  Last seen along Pearce Drive just South of Dennison Road.  For more information, and to contact Zach's owner, please visit The Dog Detective website.

8/8/07 - In Mountain Meadows Male Pit Bull, unaltered. White with Black patches one over left eye and several on the body. His name is Splash.  Call 823-0073 or 350-5713 If you have seen him.

6/29/07 - Two dogs escaped from yard on 1161 Hickory Avenue off Cherry Lane.  Missing:  long hair, standard black and tan German Shepherd named Bear, and a small black and tan Shepherd Collie mix with a docked tail named Honey.  If found, please call 661-823-1919 or 661-619-6420

4/6/07 - Husky/Wolf Hybrid Retired Sled Dog, (dog on left in photo) 9-10 years old, spayed female.  Mostly black, diluted with a white "blowing out" undercoat.  Green collar, amber-brown eyes, regular tail and fat at 60-70 pounds.  Gentle dog that loves all people, kids and dogs but will chase cats and other small animals.  Only distinguishing mark is a black tattoo (previous owner's driver's license number) on her belly, but it's hard to see under her coat.  Lost during an auto accident on Highway 99 South on April 6th.  If found, please contact Kathleen Dawn Edwards at 510-517-2184 or e-mail ladyravinwulf6@yahoo.com.

4/24/08 - Cattle type dog / Pit mix?, red merle color, intact with no microchip, found on Old Town Road hear Highway 202.  He is about three years old, wearing a green collar with a piece of chewed off rope, but has no tag.  Well mannered and well fed.  If you know who the dog belongs to, please call the Carlsons at 822-5607.

4/22/08 - Black and tan male puppy, approximately 12 to 14 weeks old, probably a Chow mix (black tongue), found 4/22 at West Park. The pup is currently being cared for by Canine Creek staff. 4/11/08 - Pregnant Border Collie - We received a call at Canine Creek this morning about a very pregnant female Border Collie that was found near Save Mart at Highway 202 & Tucker Road.  We got the dog picked up and sent to a STOP (Save Tehachapi's Orphaned Pets) foster home before she was retrieved by the Mojave shelter.  She is leaking milk, and about to give birth very soon.  If you know who this dog belongs to, please have them call Leslie at 823-0111.

4/7/08 - Female Boston Terrier found around 12:30pm this afternoon at the intersection of Tehachapi Blvd and Green Street.  Currently with Joyce at 823-9104 but she can not keep the dog at her house.  If the owner cannot be found, the dog will need a foster home ASAP.

4/7/08 - Male coon-tailed cat found by Clearview Street and W Valley Blvd.  He appears to be unfixed, no collar, yet he is very friendly, a social lap-kitty, and is litter box trained. He has a white chest, paws and nose with gray/black stripes down his back and tail. I am sure someone out there is missing this cat, he is friendly and loves to be petted/held.  If this is your cat or you know who he belongs to, please call 661-204-4376.

4/3/08 - Two Lhasa Apso or Maltese dogs, one male and one female, apricot color, not spayed/neutered, no collars, tags or microchips.  Look to be brother/sister, probably around 6 to 9 months old.  The were muddy and had stickers, so we gave them a bath.  Very friendly, well-behaved, quiet, and seem to have been well cared for.  They were found on Mill Street and brought to Canine Creek.  If the owner is not located today, one of our employees will take them home for the night.  Please call Canine Creek at 822-0307 until 6pm, or 319-8069 after 6pm.

3/31/08 - A male Miniature Pinscher has been picked up off Highline near the KB Homes after being hit by a car.  The dog is in Lancaster with the lady who rescued him.  He is having trouble using his back legs, but his condition seems to be fairly stable at the moment.  If you know who this dog belongs to, please have them call Chelley at 822-3335 as soon as possible.

February 2008 - Found: brown terrier mix, un-neutered male., plays well with large and small dogs.  Good with all ages of people and children.  Partially house broken, accidents once in a while.  Quiet until there is something to bark about.  He's approximately ten pounds and not sure how old he is.  If this is your dog, please call Save Tehachapi's Orphaned Pets (STOP) at 823-4100.

2/25/08 - Male Beagle found near Highway 202 and Sierra Vista.  Not neutered.  If this is your dog, please call Jennifer at 889-7303.

2/20/08 - Two Tiny Cockapoo or Maltese dogs found, one male and one female.  Male is neutered and female appears older.  In very poor condition.  Contact Cory West 822-9726

2/19/08 - Female Lab/Pitt Mix, all black with some white on chest and tips of back toes.  Natural ears, very sweet, and fine with other dogs.  No collar, tags or microchip.  Found off Curry in downtown Tehachapi.  If you know who this dog belongs to, please call Heidy at 823-9432 or 972-1548.  The dog will have to be sent to a shelter if the owner, or a foster family, cannot be found ASAP.

2/11/08 - Two male dogs found at the guard shack in Alpine Forest around 2/9/08.  The first dog is an intact short-haired blonde dog about 15-20 pounds.  The second dog is a larger, neutered male tan Boxer mix with a Great Dane type head.  Appear to have been raised together. Call Ed Henson at 363-3283 if you know the owner.  These dogs need an immediate foster home, and will need a permanent home if the owner cannot be located.

2/9/08 - Black Puppy w/White Markings found wandering the streets near City Park. He is all black with white on his chest and the tips of all four feet. Looks to be a Lab mix or perhaps an Australian Shepherd mix. Very young... probably no more than 8 to 10 weeks old. The lady could not keep the puppy so we have taken it into the store. If you know who this dog belongs to, please call Canine Creek at 822-0307. If the owner cannot be located immediately, the pup will need a foster family until it can be neutered and adopted.

2/8/08 - Miniature Pinscher, female, found 2/7/08 on Oakwood.  Wearing a light purple collar.  If you know who this dog belongs to, please call 972-4012. 

2/5/08 - White Poodle, male, (possibly a mix?) found on 2/1/08 at Albertson's.  No collar, weighs about 10 lbs, has a long tail and is playful.  Looks to have been groomed recently.  If this is your dog, or you know who it belongs to, please call Terry at 823-0743.

2/2/08 - Neutered male yellow Labrador was found in the desert by a sheriff's deputy. The dog is about 4 yrs old, weighs between 80 and 100lbs, is house trained, well mannered, sits and shakes on command. He is been fostered by a lady named Dee in North Edwards. Her phone number is 760-769-1015.  If the owners aren't found, he will need a permanent home.

1/28/08 - Bichon Frise, male, found at the Mojave Airport. If this is your dog, please call 822-2200 ext. 109. He is currently in a foster home, but will need a permanent home if his owners are not found.

1/18/08 - Young playful male dog, black and brindle coloring with medium length hair, found on Grove Avenue in Mountain Meadows. About 45 to 50 lbs, looks to be a young dog, no collar. Found by Cathy at 301-0937 but the dog may be turned over to Leslie at Canine Canyon Ranch since he is jumping Cathy's fence. I will update this information if the dog is transferred to Leslie.

1/15/08 -  Doberman / Shepherd Mix (?) found in the Humane Society parking lot.  Young female, black with tan coloring, about 30 lbs.  Please call the Humane Society at (661) 823-0699.

1/1/08 - Female Pitt mix (?) found in California City near the prison, wearing a choker chain. Tan with white paws and some white on her face. Very sweet and playful. Minds very well, gets along with other dogs. The dog was hungry and very under weight, so may have been wandering for a while. If you know the owner of this dog, please call 661-754-1065. The dog is being fostered by a family in Tehachapi.

12/30/07 - Female Border Collie (mix?), black and white, around 5-6 months old found behind Rite Aid on Valley Blvd.  Very nice disposition.  No tags or microchip.  The pup is being cared for by Pauline Thompson.  If this is your dog, please call Pauline at 822-7284 to claim.

12/27/07 - Male shepherd mix with long black hair and brown legs and dark brown face.  Wearing a green collar but has no tags.  Not neutered.  Microchip unknown.  Found on Tucker Road near the King of Siam restaurant just off Valley Blvd.  Was taken to foster care at Canine Canyon Ranch.  If this is your dog, call Leslie at 823-0111 to claim.

12/20/07 - Small black mixed breed male dog found on Cherry lane near Tucker Road.  Looks like a small Jack Russell.  Has white markings on his chest and under his neck. No collar and does not have a microchip.  He's a young energetic and playful dog, probably a year old or less.  To claim, call Kurt at 822-7493.

12/10/07 - Male Schnauzer with cropped ears found 12/9 in Oak Knowles.  He is blind, deaf, cannot bark and very old.  He has an Avid MicroChip that is registered to a breeder in Ohio. He is intact and is currently being fostered by Shawn at 823-8206.

12/10/07 - Male yellow Labrador found in Alpine.  Not neutered.  If this is your dog, please call Diana at 866-822-2600.

12/10/07 - Female yellow Labrador in Stallion Springs.  Wearing a PetSafe bark collar.  About one year old.  If this is your dog, please call Kristin at 823-7353.

11/14/07 - Siamese looking cat with tag that reads “Leona” but is a male.  Corner of Valley Blvd and Curry St.  Please call 822-5770.

11/13/07 - German Shepherd, female, about 2-4 years old with a black harness was turned into the Tehachapi Vet Hospital.  The dog is black and tan and appears to be well trained. She was hit by a car and has injuries.  The German Shepherd rescue may take the dog in a couple if the owner is not found.  The number of the rescue is 818-558-7560.
Before then, contact the Tehachapi Vet Hospital to claim her.

11/10/07 - Female white and gray Husky in Bear Valley Springs.  Probably about 3 years old.  She was taken to the Mojave shelter, and her ID number is A704280.  It is unknown if the dog has a microchip, as she was not scanned.  To claim your dog, call the shelter at (661) 824-1030.

11/4/07 - White fluffy male dog about 30 pounds, and approximately 6 pounds.  Picked up in the Banducci and Brite Lake area.

10/29/07 - Bassett Hound found wondering Oak Creek Road. If this is your dog, please call 661-321-6610.

10/22/07 - Black Lab mix with short legs found near Beach and Brentwood.  To claim your dog, please call Bill at (661) 300-0220.

10/22/07 - Neutered male Doberman found in Alpine Forest / Brite Lake area.  Please call 972-5990 to claim.

10/21/07 - Male Pitt Bull found on San Canyon Road near pine Canyon Road.  Very nice disposition.  If not claimed soon, he will be neutered and vaccinated by Dr. Billingsly and adopted out.  Call (661) 823-8381.

10/17/07 - Female Rottweiler, 1 to 2 years old, wearing a red collar found on Anita Drive.  Call (661) 238-9076 to claim your dog.

8/25/07 - Schnauzer/Mix, un-neutered male, black and silver, with no collar or microchip.  Found in Bear Valley Springs near Silver Creek and Willow Pass Roads.  If you are the owner of this dog, please call Canine Creek at 661-822-0307, or Mark and Sue Ann Camble at 661-821-2656.

4/7/07 - Boston Terrier, female, older, found on Woodford Tehachapi Road on the Saturday before Easter. (See photo at right.)  Call 661-822-3670 to claim this sweet girl.

3/27/07 - Brindle male Boxer, neutered, wearing a green Bark Avenue collar but has no tags.  Found near The Orchard commercial building under construction on Tucker Road.  Susan from Doberman SOS happened to be in the shop when this dog was brought in to Canine Creek, and she offered to shelter him until his family could be located.  If this is your dog, please contact Susan at Doberman SOS to claim him.
