FOUND PETS

If you've lost or found a pet in Kern County, e-mail us a description of the animal, where it was lost/found, and your name and contact information, including phone number and/or email address.  The info you provide will be posted on the Canine Creek website, and we will notify the Tehachapi Humane Society, Save Tehachapi's Orphaned Pets (STOP), the Tehachapi News, Tehachapi Vet Hospital, and Kern Country Animal Control on your behalf.  We suggest you contact the Tehachapi News classified ad department to file a lost/found pet report to be printed in the newspaper (at no cost), list the pet with FidoFinder, PetFinder, call the animal shelters in Bakersfield, and file a report with Kern County Animal Control in Mojave.  You might also want to contact local pet businesses (vets, groomers, etc), as many have bulletin boards where you can post lost/found pet information.

7/2/09 - Lost or Stolen: 3 Lhasa Apsos missing from a ranch in Tehachapi on Saturday 6/27. Two females and one male. If found, please contact Margarita at 818-359-1026.

7/01/09 - Springer Spaniel intact male, 3 yrs old, Black & White, longer-haired, lost from Bear Valley Springs near Butterfield Way. No collar, unknown if microchipped. If found, call Frank at 821-1896.

6/30/09 - Female Calico Cat, medium-haired, lost near Oak Knolls and Woodford-Tehachapi Road. Please contact Martin at 661-332-6299 if found.

6/29/09 - Female Yellow Labrador named Daisy lost in Golden Hills.  Very sweet and will probably go with anyone.  If found, please call the owner Nick at 343-2349 or contact Mojave Shelter Officer Sugg at 868-7114 to hold and return to the owner.

6/29/09 - Male indoor cat, Siamese looking, 12 years old, neutered, lost from SW Golden Hills. The cat has long hair and is wearing a collar with I.D. tags showing his name is "Ling". Very friendly. Front paws are declawed and he has been shaved for the summer so is whiter than picture and much skinnier. Ling's face looks the same and the end of his tail is bushy. 6/24/09 - Male Dark Gray Cat named Tigg lost in town at Valley Blvd and Mill Street on 6/23.  Tigg is wearing a green striped collar with a bell, about 20 lbs, 12 years old, no microchip. Please contact 661-810-3842 or email tower.electric@sbcglobal.com if found.

6/20/09 - Female Chihuahua, 16 years old, reddish-brown and white short-haired deer Chihuahua missing sometime between last night (June 19) and this morning from Golden Star in East Golden Hills.  The dog has special diet needs, continence problems, and is missing some teeth.  If you've seen her or have any information, please contact Karen at (661) 289-2342 (cell), or 823-8421, or call 289-2362.  The dog was not wearing a collar and is not microchipped.

5/28/09 - Female Queensland Heeler lost in Golden Hills on White Pine and Woodford-Tehachapi Road on 5/27/09. Named Patches, black and white ("salt and pepper") color, about 12-15 years old, stand up ears and docked tail. No collar, no microchip. Please contact Joe Hines at 661-822-6445 if found.

5/28/09 - Female Shih Tzu, spayed, lost in Bear Valley Springs on 5/19/09 about a mile west of Cub Lake. Named Gypsy, about 3 years old, black and white in color, no more than 8 lbs. No collar, no microchip. Please call Neil Hicks at 661-821-0360 if found.

5/23/09 - Female Rottweiler/Labrador Mix lost while the family was camping in Mountain Park off Willow Springs Road on 5/22/09.  The dog's name is Shadow and she is solid black in color. 5/4/09 - (2 Dogs) Female Siberian Husky & Brindle medium-sized Mixed breed found in Stallion Springs on 04/30. The husky's name is Kira, and other's is Daisy. Daisy is spayed and both dogs are microchipped with Homeagain. Daisy has a blue collar on, but no tags. Kira is black and white and Daisy is brown. Please contact Sara at 661-823-8468 if found.

4/22/09 - Female Black/White Pit Bull lost around H Street along the railroad tracks. 1-1/2 years old, no collar. Friendly but scared. Call Gail at 822-0518 if found.

4/20/09 - Male Black Pug lost in Stallion Springs on 4/17/09. The dog's name is Mugsy and he is about a year old. Not neutered, not microchipped. He is wearing a pink collar with a tag and phone numbers. If found, please call Lorna at 823-7031 or 204-2357.

4/11/09 - Female Shepard mix, brown and tan, 3 years old, wearing a green collar with a choke chain and ID tags with the name "Kacie", lost in Cummings Valley near Hidden Oaks.  If found, please call Beth at 477-4101.

4/9/09 - Orange Tabby Cat lost in February 2009 from Golden Hills.  She has a purple collar with no tag. She has been spayed. She has been missing since the beginning of February.  If found please call Jessica at 823-1418 or 972-2082.

4/8/09 - Male Pomeranian, blonde, 5 years old, about 11 pounds, lost in Stallion Springs on Tues 4/7/09.  The dog is wearing a purple collar and is micro-chipped. Please call 822-7431 or 333-0682 if you have the dog, or know where he is.

4/7/09 - Blue Gray Pit Mix with white lost in Golden Hills last Saturday off Madre near Santa Barbara Street. Lexie is wearing a collar but has no ID tag. She is recently spayed, so she has a prominent scar. Very sweet and friendly, likes car rides and treats. 3/30/09 - Male Golden Retriever, not neutered, wearing a metal choke chain with no ID tag, no microchip, lost from south Mill Street and Brentwood in town.  Charlie is 3 years old, about 100 pounds, and has been missing since 3/29.  If found, please call 364-8880 or 972-5859.

3/25/09 - 2 Black Labs, a male named Duke and a female named Daisy, about 2 years old, lost on 3/23/09 in Golden Hills on Santa Barbara. Neither dog is fixed. The male is wearing a blue collar but has no tags. No microchips. If found, please call 661-972-8104.

3/25/09 - 2 German Shepherds (GH), a male puppy 16 months old, and one 4 year old female adult that is going blind. No collars or tags. Lost in Golden Hills. If found, please call Montez McCarthy at work 721-2345 Ext 4022 or cell # 661-747-3051.

3/26/09 - Male Jack Russell Terrier, tri-color, neutered, 5 1/2 years old, lost near Dennison Road and Allen.  Answers to Six Pack and has one ear that folds down.  If found, call Helen Watson at 822-8141.

3/13/09 - Male Black Cat, neutered, domestic medium hair cat with green eyes, named Shadow, approx 9 months old, recently neutered, lost 03/12/09 on Brentwood between Cherry Lane and Beech Street off Valley Blvd. in town. The cat is all black and was wearing a bright blue collar with rhinestones on it, but no tags and not microchipped. Please contact Matthew at 661-444-3543.

3/10/09 - Male Small (apx 20#) red-haired dog. The dog is a reddish-brown color with lighter color on his face and chest, he is neutered and his name is Chance.  He should be wearing a blue collar with a Tehachapi Humane Society rescue dog tag on it. 3/6/09 - Male Pit Bull Lab Mix, brown with a white chest and white on his face, and green eyes. Guerro is very friendly, but he does not like cats. He is only 8 months old but could pass for an adult, as he is very big for his age. He also has loose skin, a red nose and big ears. Guerro is wearing a blue collar but has no ID tag. 3/2/09 - Brown Tabby Cat lost Bear Valley Springs at Bear Valley Rd. and Willow Pass, missing since 2/26/09. The cat's name is Coco. It is 3 years old and is spayed. No collar and no microchip. Please contact Diane Hurst at 661-972-1913 with any information.

2/24/09 - Female Shih Tzu, black and white, no collar or ID tags, lost in Bear Valley Springs around 3pm on the 24th.  If found, please call Michelle at 821-0403.

2/19/09 - Female Boxer, brindle with a white spot on her chest, lost in the area of Westwood and Bogie in Golden Hills.  The dog is not wearing a collar.  She doesn't have on a collar and her left eye is lazy.  If found call Wendy @ 706-1499.

2/17/09 - Male Lhasa Apso, gray and white with a little brown, lost from Dennison and Allen near the railroad tracks.  Puppy has floppy ears and was recently groomed.  He is 3 - 5 years old, not neutered.  Was wearing a Black & Silver Tribal Design collar made by Lupine, but no ID tag and is not microchipped.  If found, please call Tanya at (661) 972-8268.

2/11/09 - Male Peach/Cream Colored Cat, 13 years old, neutered, lost in City Park area by Jacobson
Middle School on 02/05/09.  The cat is wearing a blue collar but no tags or microchip. He is a thirteen year old domestic long hair and is peach/cream colored. Please contact 661-823-8867 with any info.

2/11/09 - Female Black Labrador with red collar and ID tags lost in town in the area of Green Street on 2/11. 02/08/09 - Female Jack Russell, white with big brown spots, 3 years old. 2/5/09 - Male Mastiff, brown and black brindle, missing from Koch Street and Oak Creek in Mojave since 2/3/09. Butch weighs about 100 pounds, is 2 years old, and has a Home Again microchip number 471D0D1A2D. If found, please call Home Again at 888-466-3242.

2/03/09 - Female Chihuahua Jack Russell mix lost off Aspen Street in town off Valley near the Mexican market.  The dog's name is ChaCha.  She is black with brown legs and floppy ears, abut 8 months old.  The dog is spayed, and is wearing a yellow bell collar but no ID tag.  Not microchipped.  If found, please call Loretta Flemming at 823-9448 or 819-6576.

1/29/09 - Female Scottish Terrier, black, choke chain with pink bone tag that reads "Maggie Mae Wood" lost in the area of Moon Drive in Golden Hills.  Her tag also has address and phone #.  If found, please call Sandy at 972-1283.

1/22/09 - Male Chocolate Siamese, neutered, named Noodles. He has blue eyes and was lost in the area of "D" street in town.  If found, please contact Lynn @822-8454.

1/20/09 - DUMPED Black Labrador.  Around 4pm today a Canine Creek employee witnessed a man drive up to the Golden Hills golf course, stop his white Chrysler convertible, push a large dog out of the car, and drive away. She was not able to get a license plate number before he left the scene. The dog appeared to be a black Labrador, sex unknown. Unfortunately, the dog bolted off before he could be caught. So, if someone finds a dog matching this description in Golden Hills, it will need an immediate permanent home.

1/11/09 - Great Dane & Boxer, 3 year old male Great Dane (black), and 10 year old male Boxer mix (brown/white), lost on the morning of 01/11/09 in Hart Flat.  Last seen heading towards Keene.  The Dane's name is Jake and the Boxer's name is Sampson.  Both neutered.  Dane wearing black and white collar with tag and is microchipped.  Boxer wearing brown leather collar, unknown tag with no microchip. 11/30/08 - Male Brown/White Chihuahua mix named Puck, brown with white around nose, between eyes, feet and tail tip, lost 13 miles north of Kramer Junction.  Very much loved and missed by family of 5.  REWARD!  Please contact the Bragg family at 559-627-2863 if you have Puck or have seen him.

11/23/08 - 3 Dogs (1 Corgie, 2 Border Collies) in Alpine Forest on 11/22/08.  The Corgi is male, apx 30 lbs, black/brown and white, not neutered, no collar but he does have a microchip.  The two Border Collies are both female, black & white, not fixed, apx 1 1/2 years old and 25 lbs each, both wearing a choke chain.  If seen or found, please call David Smith at 364-3936.

11/22/09 - 2 Pit Bulls lost from Highway 202 & Tucker area (house next to Albertsons & McDonalds).  One is a white female Female with reddish cow spots and red nose wearing a red collar with no tags.  The other is a male, about 6 months old, Male, blue/gray with white on his chest and feet, choke chain collar, no tags. 11/17/08 - Male Chihuahua/Jack Russell Mix lost from a kennel in Stallion Springs.  The dog is neutered and his name is Monty.  He is about 1 year old, weighs approximately 9 pounds and is wearing a black collar.  No microchip.  If found, please call the owner, Diane Peterson, at 821-3821 or 972-1969.

10/27/08 - Female Spaniel/Newfoundland Mix named Faith, all black, lost in town near the Albertson's.  Approximately 45 pounds, spayed, with medium length hair and dark eyes.  Very sweet and smart.  Wearing a Canine Canyon Ranch collar and CCR rescue tag.  Faith is a fence jumper and was last seen Sunday morning around 10 am in neighborhood directly behind Albertson's/Red Apple area. 8/7/08 - Female Black Pomeranian named Maggie lost on Saturday night 8/2/08 in Bear Valley.  She is 10 years old with a graying muzzle.  The dog was wearing a collar with a pink heart tag with an old address on it. 7/19/08 - Female Black/White Kitten named Midori was last seen two days before the fourth of July on Quail Springs Rd. off of Mariposa in West Golden Hills. She has golden eyes and is still small. 6/1/09 - Female Black Lab Mix and Female Cattle Dog found on 5/13/09 (reported to Canine Creek on 6/1/09) at Highline and Turf Rd. Neither were wearing collars. One is a Black Lab Mix, approximately 6 months to a year old. Has red on the tips of her ears. The other dog looks to be a cattle dog mix, approx. six years old. She is light brown with white on her face and chest. She also had stitches on her stomach. 3/16/09 - Female Beagle found on Milky Way in Golden Hills.  The dog is wearing a bark collar.  Contact Roxanne Davis to claim the dog.  Call 822-2200 ext. 114.  UPDATE: The found female beagle on Milky Way in Golden Hills dug herself out of a backyard sometime during the night, so she is back on the streets. 3/16/09 - Male Yellow Labrador Retriever, neutered adult, found on Bogie off Westwood Blvd. in Golden Hills on 03/14/09. He is solid yellow with some white on his paws. The dog is approx. 70-80lbs. 3/15/09 - Male Shepherd/Chow Mix found back 11/20/08 at the recycling center off Highway 58 (just now being reported to us). 3/13/09 - Female Pomeranian Mix, tan with medium hair, white on feet and chest, found just North of Delano on Highway 99 Northbound at Avenue 24. 3/13/09 - 2 Shepherd Mixes SIGHTED running down Santa Barbara at Santa Maria in Golden Hills. The dogs were both wearing collars and the smaller dog had a county license tag. The dogs were skittish and could not be caught.

3/13/09 - 3 Small Dogs, 2 Chihuahua mixes and 1 mixed breed, found going through a trash heap next to railroad tracks near Caliente by a Railroad worker. One of the dogs was given away by the RR worker. The other two were turned into STOP. No collars or tags. Dogs in excellent condition. They will go up for adoption in 14 days if owner is not found. 2/24/09 - 2 Small Female Dogs found last evening on Alder Road at East Orchard Parkway off of Curry.  The white dog is possibly a poodle cross, but with coarse hair.  The black dog's breed is unknown but it has long hair, a curled up tail, half stand up ears, and a white chest with white on the tail. Both dogs weigh approx. less than 10 lbs and are adults, but the white dog appears to be an older dog. They were found both dragging leashes and wearing choke chains.  The black dog was also wearing a pink collar.  No tags, microchips unknown.  Contact Wendy at 661-303-3192 to claim. 2/2/09 - Male Chihuahua/Dachshund mix found on Alder Avenue in the Alta Vista Estates housing community off Curry on 02/01/09. Dog seen running with a male Bassett Hound, which was picked up by another party.  The dog is brown and tan with a black tip on his tail and stand-up ears. His body type is long/lean more like a Shepherd, so he could be a Lab/Shep mix.  The dog has a distinctive short cropped tail -- about half the length of a "normal" Lab tail.  He was taken down to the PALMDALE shelter today by the lady who found him.

1/26/09 - Male Rottweiler/Pit mix, not neutered, overweight found on Sunnybrook Road in west Golden Hills on Saturday 01/24/09. Dog is black with white paws and chest. Approx 4-5 years old per animal control, but he has dull teeth and arthritis so it could be older.  No collar/tags.  Unknown if the dog has a microchip. 1/23/09 - Female Wire Hair Terrier Mix puppy, 10 to 11 weeks old, tan with white on chest and paws, found on Valley Blvd near Kelton Apartments on 1/22/09. 1/22/09 - Male Border Collie Mix (Borax) found at Highway 58 at the Borax exit.  He appears to be a border collie/terrier mix, neutered male, with left rear leg surgically removed. Has two different color eyes. Has been in this location since around Jan.1st.  May have wandered off from family on vacation/off-road campers, etc. Typically skittish as a stray but friendly with humans feeding him and providing water and with all dogs in nearby fenced lots. Volunteers are trying to catch this dog to transport it to Canine Canyon Ranch at 823-0111. Dog is listed on Petfinder.com under CA1354 shelter.  If owners cannot be located, this dog needs an adoptive home. No adoption fee to someone who is willing to open their hearts to this sweet fellow.

1/19/09 - Male Lab mix, black with white on muzzle, age unknown, not neutered, no collar/ID, no microchip, found near Golden Hills CSD between Reeves & Shirley.  The dog is in custody of the Tehachapi Vet Hospital, and they will hold him for 72 hours.  If not claimed during that time, the dog will be sent to the Mojave shelter.  Call TVH at 822-6731 to claim.

12/29/08 - Black Male Dog found at Meadowbrook Park, estimate less than a year old, maybe Pit Bull or boxer.  Not neutered.  No collar.  Friendly disposition.  Had an injury on left leg and the leg was swollen and painful for the dog to walk on.  The dog also appeared malnourished.  The vet said it would hold him for 3 days.  Call 822-6731 to claim.

9/5/08 - (2) Black Labradors, male and female (mating pair), both wearing red collars but no ID tags or microchips.  Found around D & E streets, and taken to the Mojave Shelter.  Call 824-1030 to claim.  They are open until 4 p.m. today, and 10-4 p.m. Saturday, closed noon-1 p.m.

9/3/08 - Orange Tabby Cat, very large intact male, found at the Sand Canyon Shooting Range.  Polite in the house.  If you know who he belongs to, call 822-3915.

8/28/08 - Male Tan Puppy with a black stripe on his back and a tiny white spot on his chest.  Found Tuesday, 08/26 near Jake's Steakhouse on Curry.  He is very small puppy (about 5 pounds) with his baby teeth. One rear leg isn't right...he doesn't put much weight on the leg, but he doesn't act like it hurts him.  No collar.  The lady who found him can't keep the puppy, so a friend is fostering him for a few days.  If you know who owns this puppy, please call Sylvia at 822-7679 or Vickie (work) at 868-4589 or 823-8877.

8/28/08 - Male Husky, gray and white with blue eyes, found on Circle Drive.  Male, Gray/white Husky. Has cataract in right eye, neutered, about 8yrs old, no collar. Call 661-345-6741 if you know who this dog belongs to.

8/21/08 -  Male Yellow Labrador picked up by animal control on 8/21.  He is wearing a tag that says "Dakota" but the phone number is incorrect.  The dog also has a microchip that says the dog's name is Teddy.  The dog was picked up by Officer Sugg.  She was not able to located the owner.  If this is your dog, please call Mojave Animal Control at 824-1030.

8/18/08 - Male Labrador Retriever found in a field by the Tehachapi Pet Lodge off Woodford-Tehachapi Road.  He is about 5 years old, wearing a blue nylon collar and a red nylon leash. Please call the vet hospital to claim. 822-6731.

8/11/08 - Male Corgie, tan with no tail, found near Blockbuster Video on Valley and Tucker Roads. No collar. If this is your dog, or know who it belongs to, please call Rhonda Green at 822-0175.

7/26/08 - (2) Dogs Found - Corgie Mix and Yorkie mix, found on Tucker Road near Bank of the West around 8 am on 7/26.  The male is a Corgie mix and the female is a Yorkie mix (not spayed).  The female is shaved with a lion cut. 7/16/08 - Male Black Mix Puppy (Bakersfield) with a white chest, and white on his nose, feet and tip of his tail.  He is about 8 months old, found in Bakersfield at Memorial Hospital on 34th Street.  Possible Lab or Pit mix.  Very friendly and well behaved for a puppy. 7/15/08 - Male St. Bernard mix found running through the alley between Curry & Green Street. He looks young, has a tan nylon collar, and a broken piece of rope attached to it. The dog is not neutered. Call Lori at 823-0247 to claim.

7/13/08 - Male Queensland found 7/13 at Woodford-Tehachapi and Pinion. He is not neutered. No collar or microchip. The dog was picked up, but has since escaped from the lady who rescued him.  Please call 822-7331 for more information.

7/8/08 - Female Labrador Retriever, tan or chocolate colored, was picked up by a Kern County Deputy today at Westwood and Golden Star.  She is wearing a blue collar but has no tags.  Estimated to be about 10 years old.  Animal Control has been called, but they cannot pick up the dog until tomorrow, so she's being fostered overnight by Sharon from the Tehachapi Humane Society.
