but has been with a new family for about four days. The family he is
with now cannot keep him. They are bringing him by Canine Creek today to

Size Dog, about the size of a
small Lab, found near Green Street. The dog has an Avid Chip
#096305340 and has been recently groomed. The microchip is
registered to the LA County shelter, and the shelter says the dog is
owned by a Tehachapi resident, but there is no answer at the phone
number provided (822-1148). The dog needs an immediate foster, or
it will be sent to the shelter, as the people who found the dog cannot

- Female Black Lab Mix and Female Cattle Dog
found on 5/13/09 (reported to Canine Creek on 6/1/09) at
Highline and Turf Rd. Neither were wearing collars. One is a Black Lab
Mix, approximately 6 months to a year old. Has red on the tips of her
ears. The other dog looks to be a cattle dog mix, approx. six years old.
She is light brown with white on her face and chest. She also had
stitches on her stomach. A couple that was camping took them to their
home in Bakersfield and will care for them until owners are found.

2/27/09 - Female Chihuahua Mix,
large, black with white bits, about 1 year old, found in Water Canyon
just south of the monastery. To claim, please call Sheree at

2/25/09 Female Terrier/Chihuahua
mix about 2 to 2 1/2 years
old, black and brown, no collar or microchip, found in a drainage pipe
near the reservoir on Highline Road. Please call Angela at
821-1788 to claim.
2/24/09 - 2 Small Female Dogs
found last evening on Alder Road at East Orchard Parkway off of Curry.
The white dog is possibly a poodle cross, but with coarse hair. The
black dog's breed is unknown but it has long hair, a curled up tail,
half stand up ears, and a white chest with white on the tail. Both dogs
weigh approx. less than 10 lbs and are adults, but the white dog appears
to be an older dog. They were found both dragging leashes and wearing
choke chains. The black dog was also wearing a pink collar. No tags,
microchips unknown. Contact Wendy at 661-303-3192 to claim. She will
hold them temporarily until the owners or a foster can be found.
2/23/09 - Male Husky puppy
about 5 months old, brown/black/white, not wearing a collar, found on
Alder Road. Is presently with Wendy. Please call her at

2/23/09 - Male Yellow Labrador
found wandering around Canine Creek in town. About 3 to 4 years
old, not neutered, no collar, no microchip. If this is your dog,

2/20/09 - Male Dachshund Mix,
smooth-coated, black with brown on feet a chest, young, not neutered,
found last night on M Street in Mojave. Very friendly with people

2/20/09 - Female Golden Retriever,
young, golden in color, no collar, found on Highway 202 in the area
between the east end of lower Cummings Valley and the west end of lower
Cummings Valley Rd. To claim, please call Karen at 972-2831.
2/14/09 - Female Black/White Kitten
with long hair, about 10-12 weeks old, found on Midway and turned in to
the Tehachapi Vet Hospital. If you own this kitten, or know who does,

2/11/09 - Female Black Labrador
with tan nylon collar, but no ID
tag or microchip, found in town. Very well cared for. Been in area
of Sutter and Curry for a few days. In custody at Mojave Shelter
824-1030 Wednesday hours 2-7 p.m. Thurs Fri Sat 10-4 p.m. closed lunch.
2/8/09 - PUPPY Male
Husky or Malamute found in
Mountain Meadows. He is only about 3 to 4 months old and still has his
baby teeth. Is probably not neutered yet, but it's hard to tell since
he is so young. No collar, ID or microchip. Please call Trish at

2/5/09 - 2 Female Pit Bulls,
adults, possibly siblings, found on C Street in Tehachapi. Both
are white with black markings. One is wearing a leather collar
with studs, but no ID tags. The person who found the dogs will
hold them for a few days. Call Liberty at 822-1823 or 750-9294 to
claim.
2/3/09 - Female Chihuahua,
black and brown, with a blue nylon collar, picked up by Animal Control.
Possible house dog. To claim, call the Mojave shelter at 824-1030.
2/2/09 - Female Red Chihuahua
picked up by Animal Control and taken to the Mojave shelter. Exact
location where the dog was found is unknown. Call the shelter at
824-1030 to claim the dog.
2/2/09 - Male Chihuahua/Dachshund mix
found on Alder Avenue in the Alta Vista Estates housing community off
Curry on 02/01/09. Dog seen running with a male Bassett Hound, which was
picked up by another party. The dog is brown and tan with a black tip
on his tail and stand-up ears. Wearing a red collar, but had no ID tag
or microchip. Contact Irene at 823-7331 for information. She will hold
the dog until she hears from a rescue.
2/1/09 - Male Bassett Hound,
neutered, brown and white, about 1 year old, found on Miranda Court in
the Alta Vista Estates. He was not wearing a collar/ID but did
have a long orange rope tied around his neck, so he was probably on
tie-out when he escaped. No microchip. Call Nancy at
